Taking My Own Advice
Life is hard, and I am not immune to the challenges it throws at any of us. I have my off days—plenty of them. I struggle with depression and anxiety, just like so many others. The healing journey is not a destination but an ongoing process, and I’m learning to embrace that truth every day.
I am not perfect. I never have been, and I don’t pretend to be. I have to put in the work to grow, to heal, and to get better—just like everyone else. And on the days when I stumble, when I feel low or overwhelmed, I remind myself:
It’s okay not to be okay.
I am allowed to have moments of stillness, sadness, and imperfection because those moments do not erase the progress I’ve made.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
This verse reminds me that even in my lowest moments, I am not alone. God meets me in my brokenness and gently lifts me up, reminding me of my strength and His unwavering love.
Your Progress is Valid—Even on the Hard Days
Do not let anyone discount your progress or hold your bad days against you. Healing is not a linear path, and growth doesn’t always look pretty. Sometimes it’s one step forward and two steps back—but even those steps back carry lessons.
You are not defined by your hardest moments, your setbacks, or your struggles. You are defined by your resilience, your heart, and your willingness to keep showing up for yourself.
Hurt people hurt people, and darkness cannot hide in light. When others project their pain onto you or fail to see your efforts, remind yourself that their perception does not define your reality.
Shine bright on your cloudy days, knowing that the rain doesn’t last forever—and rain is needed to grow.
Flowers don’t bloom without it, and neither do we. Every storm you weather is watering the seeds of strength, wisdom, and purpose within you.
Why I Share My Journey
Sharing my experiences here doesn’t mean I have everything figured out. It doesn’t mean I don’t struggle, break down, or question my path.
What it does mean is that I’ve learned tools and lessons along the way that have helped me keep going, even when it felt impossible.
And yes, I do take my own advice.
I lean into the words I share because they’re not just for you—they’re for me too. They’re reminders I need when the weight of the world feels too heavy to carry alone.
I share my journey in the hopes that it might help just one person. Maybe someone who feels alone in their struggle, someone who’s tired, someone who just needs a reminder that they are not broken or behind.
Healing isn’t about fixing what’s "wrong" with you—it’s about learning to love yourself through every version of you, even the messy, vulnerable parts.
We Are All Works in Progress
If you’re reading this, know that I’m walking this road with you.
Healing is not about perfection—it’s about showing up, trying again, and giving yourself grace along the way.
We’re all allowed to have our struggles. We’re all allowed to not be okay. And we’re all capable of growth, one step, one breath, one moment at a time.
If you’re on that journey too, I see you. I’m proud of you. And I’m rooting for you—just like I root for myself.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
Let this verse be a reminder that even in our most fragile moments, we are seen, we are loved, and we are held.
Keep going, keep shining, and keep showing up.
Rain or shine, you are growing—and that’s something to be proud of.
